Ruby Mimi
Nice room, good price, walking distance from everywhere. Stop overthinking it.
Ruby is a chain — but the good kind, the kind that figured something out and is quietly rolling it out across European cities while everyone else is still arguing about boutique versus business. The Mimi is their Zürich property, right on Beatenplatz, a short walk from the main train station and, from there, basically everywhere else you'd want to be.
The room was one step up from standard — small balcony, a good speaker, thoughtful details. Not the most expensive option, not the cheapest. The kind of room where you walk in and immediately feel like you don't need to upgrade. The design is considered without being showy: white brick, warm wood panelling, furniture with a bit of character.
"Book here and stop wasting time looking at hotels online."
Ruby Mimi Zürich, Beatenpl. 4. Book a step up from the base room if you can — the balcony is worth it. They also have a Ruby in Munich, Vienna, London and a few other cities, all operating on the same logic. Once you've stayed in one you'll just book Ruby by default.
Not sponsored. Just a good hotel at a price that doesn't require a justification conversation with yourself.
