Geneva's watch trade runs largely on ceremony and reputation — heritage brands behind marble counters, staff whose job is not to inform you but to awe you. Bijouterie Grégoire is something else entirely. Ring the bell at number 8 Rue de la Cité, just below the cathedral, and what awaits is one of the city's most focused NOMOS destinations.

The German watchmaker's work is displayed here as it deserves to be: on clean timber blocks, in a room quiet enough to actually think. The selection covers the full range — from the pared-back Tangente and its classically Bauhaus face, to the Autobahn Neomatik, which manages to make an energy-reserve display look genuinely elegant. Prices visible, no pressure implied.

The shop is closed on Mondays and operates by appointment outside of regular hours — the bell on the door is the point. That slight friction is a feature. The people inside want to talk about watches; they're not waiting for you to stop.

One watch worth asking about specifically: the Autobahn Neomatik Weltzeit — the red arc on white dial version is eye-catching even through the glass. They'll let you try it on.
