Vintage Swiss posters. Expensive, unique, worth poking your head in.

A gallery and archive of original vintage Swiss posters — ski ads, tourism, sport, transport, national events. The kind of thing that is completely unique to Switzerland and almost impossible to find anywhere else. Old Jungfrau Bahn posters from the 1940s. Le Valais pays du soleil. Schweizerische Bundesbahnen. Ice hockey from 1985.

It's expensive — originals in good condition run from a couple hundred francs up to considerably more. But even if you're not buying, it's worth stepping in for ten minutes. The posters are genuinely beautiful objects and it's a good way to understand what this country actually looked like to itself before everything was marketed at foreigners.

"Browse the website first. Go to the store with a specific ask. That's how you find the one you actually want."

The best approach if you want to actually buy something: go to galerie123.com first, dig around until you find something you want, then go to the store and ask for it specifically. The physical stock and the website stock overlap but aren't identical — they can often pull things from the archive that aren't on the floor. Arrive knowing what you want.
