The Bains des Pâquis is a Geneva institution. When I first moved here, I was tempted to avoid it because I assumed it was a tourist trap. I was wrong. It has authentic 1970s vibes, a wonderful view of the city from the water, good drinks, a surprisingly good Greek salad, and even saunas and other wellness stuff if you pay a little extra. Most importantly, though, it’s a great place to jump into the lake. You dive in, come back to the surface, and see the snow-covered French Alps staring back at you in the distance. For a moment, you think: Geneva is a pretty good place to live.
