HoodTip privacy
Your information.
HoodTip is built for sharing good places, not selling personal information. This page explains what we collect, why we need it, and the choices you control.
Information you provide
We store account details, profile information, HoodTips, photos, comments, saves, and trip guides that you choose to create. A location attached to a HoodTip describes the place you recommend; HoodTip does not require continuous or background device location.
Reports and blocked-account choices are private and are not shown on public profiles.
How it is used
- Operate accounts, profiles, recommendations, saves, maps, and guides.
- Display content according to its public, unlisted, or private setting.
- Prevent abuse, investigate reports, and enforce community rules.
- Maintain reliability, security, and product performance.
Public content
Published HoodTips, their photos, profile names, handles, and public guides can be viewed and shared by other people. Private saves and private trips are not public. Unlisted guides can be opened by anyone who has their link.
Service providers
HoodTip uses infrastructure providers, including Supabase for database, authentication, and file storage and Vercel for website hosting. They process information only to provide those services under their own security and privacy commitments.
Your controls
You can edit or delete your HoodTips, edit your profile, manage blocked accounts, and permanently delete your account from the app’s Safety & Privacy screen. If immediate deletion cannot be completed, the request is securely queued and processed within 30 days. Deletion removes the account and associated personal data, subject to limited legal or security retention requirements.
