Inside the Graduate Institute’s Maison de la Paix, this is the practical answer for anyone working around the UN, ICRC or international quarter. It is designed for students and policy people carrying laptops, so nobody will glare at you for opening one.
There are proper tables, inexpensive cafeteria food and enough institutional energy to make answering emails feel vaguely consequential. It is particularly useful between meetings or when you need somewhere near the UNHCR office to finish something before going home.
Good for: Long sessions, work between meetings and pretending your emails are advancing international peace
