Seven blue runs you can cruise stress-free in Chamonix

Chamonix has a reputation as the world’s off-piste capital, which makes it sound terrifying if you’re an intermediate skier looking for a good cruising blue. The actual situation is more nuanced: some of the best intermediate skiing in the French Alps is here, it’s just not where most people start looking.

Chamonix is a valley of separate ski areas. Brévent and Flégère have a lift connection; reaching the other areas means travelling by road or public transport. Check the current bus timetable and ticket conditions. Start at Les Houches, spend two days there, then see how you feel.
